SOC: Brazil through as spot kick hoodoo condemns Argentina

ASUNCION, July 11 AFP - Argentina's penalty jinx returned to haunt them today as Brazil won
the clash of the South American titans 2-1 to book a place in the Copa America semi-finals
where they will play Mexico.

With 12 minutes remaining Argentina skipper Roberto Ayala had the opportunity to square
the match from the spot but Brazil keeper Dida denied him with a superb save.

Ayala had taken over penalty duties from Martin Palermo, who earlier in the tournament had
