National athletics championships promise top-class competition

Israel's top athletes will be competing in the national athletics championships on July 18 and 19 with an eye on next month's world championships in Seville, Spain and also the Sydney Olympics.
Thirty athletes from abroad, including the first Chinese athletes to compete here, have been invited to the Hadar Yosef stadium to boost incentive for the local stars.
Athletes from the Netherlands, Jamaica, Turkey, the Ukraine and the United States will also be part of what Israel Athletics Association chairman Shlomo Ben-Gal billed yesterday as "the best show in ...
