FED: PM opens newly rechristened film and sound archive

CANBERRA, June 21 AAP - Australia's national collection of films and sound recordings has a
new identity - ScreenSound Australia.

The former National Film and Sound Archive was rechristened tonight by Prime Minister John
Howard before an audience of stars from stage, television and film to position the collection
of Australia's cultural identity into the next century.

Mr Howard hailed the archive's collection of two million films and recordings as a treasure
