Judaism has the concept of Mashiah/Messiah/The Anointed One who will one day redeem the Jewish people from Exile and turn the world into a Divine place to be in.
Christianity has Christ, from the Greek Christos/The Anointed One, who came once to atone for the sins of humanity and is to come again to redeem the world.
Somewhat similarly, Islamic Shi'ism has the Mahdi, "The [Divinely] Guided One"; Mahayana Buddhism...
