A little more than a decade ago William Christie and a daring band of colleagues brought Jean-Baptiste Lully back from the dead with their celebrated production of ''Atys.''

Now Christie is back on Lully's case with a presentation of another tragedie lyrique, ''Thesee,'' the third of his 11 full-scale theatrical collaborations with the poet Philippe Quinault. It was first performed in 1675 and survived at the Paris Opera for a little more than a century before disappearing into the shelves of musical libraries.
