Qld: Warning as croc breeding season nears

BRISBANE, July 23 AAP - A close call for two Queensland crab fisherman has prompted
a crocodile warning about the coming breeding season.

Environmental Protection Agency ranger Liz Farrell said a three-metre croc has been
sighted several times in central Queensland close to a Boyne River boat ramp, near a caravan
park south of Gladstone.

Last Monday, she said, two men from the caravan park were using a canoe to put out
crab pots when they were "surprised" by a crocodile surfacing nearby.
