Fed: Govt to be flexible on native title in territorial waters

The federal government says it's willing to recognise native title rights in territorial waters.

Ahead of a meeting of native title ministers today .. Attorney-General ROBERT MCCLELLAND
says the Commonwealth will recognise non-exclusive native title rights can exist in territorial
waters up to 12 nautical miles offshore.

Mr MCCLELLAND says the position is consistent with a High Court decision .. ...
