DESPITE adopting political reform as the banner of his new political
bandwagon, Thaksin Shinawatra may have to fine-tune his image-making strategy
if he wants to succeed in politics.

An overwhelming 85.7 per cent of respondents voiced suspicion over
Thaksin's leadership and ruled out his new, yet-to-be-named party as a
new hope for local politics, according to The Nation's electronic poll.

Only 12.1 per cent viewed Thaksin's planned foray into politics as a
hope for Thais while slightly more than 2 per cent said they were unsure.
