BRISBANE, May 22 AAP - One in 10 children in the north-western Queensland mining city
of Mount Isa have elevated blood lead levels, a report shows, putting them at risk of
behavioural and intellectual impairments.
A Queensland Health study released today of 400 Mt Isa children aged one to four showed
11.3 per cent had elevated blood lead levels, greater than 10 micrograms per decilitre.
