Fed: $11bln education infrastructure fund announced in budget

CANBERRA, May 13 AAP - The Rudd government took its education revolution up a gear
tonight, revealing a new $11 billion education infrastructure fund.

Some $5 billion from this year and next year's budget surpluses will be directed into
the the Education Investment Fund (EIF), as well as $6 billion from the Higher Education
Endowment Fund.

Further money from future surpluses may also be allocated to the EIF.
