A multi-million pound investment is to be started this summer by communications company Vodafone UK (Vodafone) to extend its mobile broadband network to cover an additional three million people across Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Reading.

Vodafone said the six areas will join London and major UK airports, which were the first to gain from the high speed upgrade last year, with roll out to be completed by Autumn 2008.
