FED: Westpac-St George merger will lessen competition: Choice

SYDNEY, May 12 AAP - A merger between Westpac and rival St George will reduce competition
in the banking sector, consumer advocate group Choice has warned.

The group wants a commitment from both companies that neither branches nor ATMs will
close, after Westpac today announced it was in merger talks with St George.
