Million pound house sales rise by third in 2007 ; PROPERTY

The number of million-pound properties sold in the UK rose by more than a third in 2007, research revealed yesterday.
The research from Halifax Estate Agents found 8,257 properties costing a pounds 1 million or more were sold last year, a 36 per cent increase on the 2006 figure of 6,057.
The rise comes despite fears of a slowdown in the property market.
