FED: Fertility test for 30-somethings on the horizon

SYDNEY, May 6 AAP - Women who plan to delay motherhood until their late 30s and 40s
may soon being able to take a simple blood test to predict how many fertile years they
have left.

A team of Australian and Dutch scientists have developed a model for a test that would
use hormone levels to estimate when a female is likely to start menopause.

With a menopause date, women can count back a decade to work out when their natural
fertility will start to decline.
