WA: Development pace could result in more archeological finds

PERTH, April 7 AAP - The pace of development in the Pilbara region, where Aboriginal
tools at least 35,000 years old were found at a proposed mine site, could lead to further
significant archaeological finds.

Archaeologists have dated tools from the site between Newman and Port Hedland at 35,000
years old and are awaiting further test results which could push the date back further.

Hired by local Aborigines, they conducted radiocarbon tests on the materials and say
