FED: New agreement on radio astronomy

CANBERRA, March 5 AAP - A new agreement between Australia and Germany will help to
develop new technology for radio astronomy.

Federal Science Minister Kim Carr signed the agreement in Berlin earlier today.

It formalises a commitment between the CSIRO and its German counterpart the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft
(MPG) to cooperate in the development of new technologies for radio astronomy.

Senator Carr said the agreement would help Australia's chances of hosting the $2 billion
