RU: South Africa captain Smit arrives at Clermont-Ferrand
CLERMONT-FERRAND, France, Nov 3 AFP - South Africa's World Cup-winning rugby captain
John Smit arrived at Clermont-Ferrand today to join his new team.
Just two weeks after guiding the Springboks to the Webb Ellis trophy against reigning
champions England, Smit touched down in the morning to be greeted by compatriot and team-mate
Grant Esterhuizen.
The hooker was then presented to the home crowd ahead of Clermont's 33-20 victory over
Montpellier in the French Top 14 championship.
