CU welcomes freshman class of 5,555 to Boulder campus Near-record count brings enrollment to almost 29,000

The University of Colorado at Boulder's fall freshman class is 5,555 strong, academically gifted and largely homegrown, according to enrollment figures released Thursday.
It's slightly smaller than last year's record-setting freshman class, but includes the largest number of Colorado residents in the school's history. Of the 5,555 new students, 3,327, or 60 percent, are state residents.
