WA: President Hu's visit is important for WA, says Carpenter

PERTH, Aug 30 AAP - Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Western Australia next week
signifies an important milestone in the relationship between the world's most populous
nation and the state, says Premier Alan Carpenter.

President Hu is due to arrive in Perth on Monday for a 24-hour visit - the first to
WA by a Chinese president - ahead of the APEC Summit in Sydney.

Mr Carpenter said today the visit highlighted the high value placed on the economic
and cultural relationship between WA ...
