NSW: Blue green algae found in Sydney's main drinking supply

SYDNEY, Aug 29 AAP - Sydneysiders may again experience a difference in the taste and
odour of tap water, with a 14km stretch of blue green algae detected on the city's main
supply at Warragamba Dam.

Water Minister Phil Koperberg said testing of the bloom had not detected any toxins
but it would be closely monitored over coming days.

He said recent warm weather had exacerbated the algae's growth.

"This does not constitute at all a threat to the quality of Sydney's drinking water,"
