Petronas to sell LNG to Shikoku

MALAYSIA'S state oil and gas firm Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has agreed to sell 420,000 tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year to Japan's Shikoku Electric Power Co Inc.

Shikoku Electric, Japan's eighth largest power company, will use LNG to generate electricity, starting from 2010.
The company supplies electricity to more than four million people on Shikoku island, and will use LNG as fuel in its power plants for the first time.
