Monday, May 7, 2007 -- A 2,200-year-old Greek-inscribed stone block that provides unique insight into the background to the Maccabean Revolt has been unveiled at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

The newly deciphered stele apparently came from the area between the Judean Hills and the Mediterranean. It was uncovered years ago but its historic content was unknown until recently.
