Fed: Howard pushes for public holiday for world leaders' visit

CANBERRA, Sept 11 AAP - NSW should be given a public holiday when Sydney hosts world
leaders at an international summit next year, Prime Minister John Howard says.

US President George W Bush, Russian President Vladimir Putin and 18 other world leaders
will join Mr Howard at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders meeting on
September 8-9 next year.

Mr Howard said he had had discussions with NSW Premier Morris Iemma about making the
APEC heads of government meeting a public ...
