AFL: League wins drug name case

MELBOURNE, Aug 30 AAP - The AFL claimed a victory in the wider fight against illicit
drugs today after the Victorian Supreme Court endorsed its doping policy.

The court decision rejected a media bid to name three AFL players who had twice tested
positive to recreational drugs.

A further ruling to be made tomorrow is expected to result in a permanent injunction
prohibiting the naming of any other player who fails a similar drug test on the first
or second occasion.
