Chair of UC-Davis entomology department appointed

(The California Aggie) (U-WIRE) DAVIS, Calif. -- Walter Leal, an award-winning professor known for his research in the fields of chemical ecology and entomology, was appointed chair of the University of California-Davis department of entomology July 1.
He succeeds interim chair and emeritus entomology professor Robert Washino.
Neal Van Alfen, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, which houses the department of entomology, said Leal's contribution to the study of entomology is unmatched.
