William T. Powell, a dedicated family and businessman, died at the
Lancaster General Hospital Thursday following a long illness. He was 45.

Powell was born Sept. 19, 1960, and grew up in Southwest Philadelphia.
After graduating from John Bartram High School he earned a degree in
criminology from Indiana University.

He married Tamara Powell in 1987.

Powell had worked as a parole officer, but spent the last 18 years as a
State Farm Insurance agent.

Relatives said he had an outgoing personality and often helped the
homeless.

He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha ...
