Fans, friends celebrate Zubin Mehta's 70th birthday

The 70th birthday of Zubin Mehta, who is the long-time music director of
the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and a former music director of the New
York Philharmonic, was celebrated in New York and California by the
American Friends of the IPO.
This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the Israel Philharmonic
Orchestra. Hence the event doubled as the celebration of the orchestra and
a fundraiser as well, generating $4.4 million for the IPO.
