Mount Angel is home to one of Oregon's biggest Oktoberfest celebrations. In similar Bavarian spirit, it may soon be home to the nation's tallest glockenspiel.

The 49-foot glockenspiel _ a clock tower with animated figures that sing and tell stories _ will be the tallest in the United States and an appropriate centerpiece for the town's famous Oktoberfest, supporters say.

The glockenspiel will be ready as early as September, just in time for Oktoberfest. The community hopes it will become a tourist draw, similar to the ...
