Base: Baseball Hall of Famer Puckett dies after suffering stroke

FORT MYERS, Florida, March 6 AFP - Baseball Hall of Fame star Kirby Puckett, who led
the Minnesota Twins to two World Series titles, died today of complications from a stroke,
the team said.

Puckett, who was 44, underwent neurosurgery on Sunday after suffering a stroke at his
home in Arizona, and died in hospital this afternoon.

"This is a sad day for the Minnesota Twins, Major League Baseball and baseball fans
everywhere," Twins owner Carl Pohland said.
