Vic: Dead rapist should have been watched: McIntosh

MELBOURNE, Feb 2 AAP - Violent rapists such as William John Watkins, who was wanted
for questioning over the murders of two Melbourne women before he was shot dead in Western
Australia, should be monitored, the Victorian Opposition says.

Shadow attorney-general Andrew McIntosh said the opposition had urged the government
to include a range of serious criminals - including violent rapists, murderers, arsonists,
fraudsters and drug traffickers - in monitoring legislation passed last year.
