Fed: Taiwan offers help to tiny Pacific island

MELBOURNE, Jan 19 AFP - Taiwan has offered to help the remote Pacific island of Nauru
restore operations of its national airline after the United States seized the country's
only aircraft last month.

Officials from Nauru and Taiwan reached an agreement in principle on restoring Air
Nauru's services during talks last week in Taipei, Nauru Civil Aviation Minister Kieren
Keke announced in a statement released by the Pacific nation's representative office in
Melbourne.
