Jack Kevorkian was once a regular feature on the nightly news, a figure of
ferocious controversy and a pop-culture icon at the same time. That was
back in the 1990s, when every American knew his name and virtually nobody
had heard of Osama bin Laden.

Today, Dr. Death sits in a jail cell in Lapeer, 77 years old, out of touch
