PASIR MAS, Thurs. - For the second time in three weeks, new Malaysia Airlines managing director Idris Jala has received the backing of the Prime Minister to turn the ailing carrier around.

This backing should be read as a signal to politicians and others to allow Idris and his team to get on with the job of reducing the mountain of debt which is currently suffocating one of the world's top airlines.
