Renowned vocalist to perform 'Ayre' song cycle

Award-winning soprano Dawn Upshaw will be taking a musical journey when she
performs this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Severence Hall. The journey was
written by Argentina-born composer Osvaldo Golijov. While Golijov's Jewish
heritage, Latin influence, and Israeli identity mark this song cycle, it is
Dawn Upshaw and her amazing vocal range and virtuosity that give "Ayre" its
greatest realization. Perhaps that is why he dedicated the work to her.
