Fed: Money-driven mindset is new threat to children

CANBERRA, Oct 28 AAP - Money-driven western societies are the biggest new threat to
today's children, a child abuse expert says.
Dr Sue Packer warns that in a world where people are driven by consumerism, children
can be left behind or even used to boost parental egos.
Dr Packer is director of the Children at Risk Assessment Unit at The Canberra Hospital
and president of the National Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect
in the ACT.
