It's time for Russian Jews to go to the "source."

The Hebrew word yesod means source, and so Yesod is the perfect name for
St. Petersburg, Russia's new Jewish community center, which many hope will
become the central address for all Russian Jews, regardless of background,
in this post-Soviet Jewish renaissance.

Yesod, which in Russian is also an acronym for St. Petersburg Jewish
Community Home, is the first new Jewish building in St. Petersburg since
before the rise of the Soviet Union, notes executive director Nonna Levina.
