AFL: League signs deals with Betfair and TAB Sportsbet

MELBOURNE, Oct 26 AAP - The AFL has become the first Australian sporting body to sign
a licensing agreement with controversial British-based betting exchange Betfair.

The AFL announced today it had signed separate deals with Betfair and TAB Sportsbet,
with both agencies to pay licensing fees expected to be worth more than $1 million annually
to the league.

Betfair is currently attempting to obtain a licence to operate in Australia, with the
