It's good to see the Spiritual Baptist Faith gaining in recognition. In
Trinidad and Tobago, March 30 is celebrated as Spiritual Baptist Day, and,
thanks to Council Member Kendall Stewart, beginning last year Spiritual
Baptist Recognition Day is observed in New York City each July.

Now the City's celebration has expanded to a full week. With the esteemed
King Shepherd Carlton Callender officiating, on Friday evening, July 8th,
at Caf Omar in Flatbush, Brooklyn, Council Member Stewart declared, "By
