QLD: Hervey Bay patients at risk from surgeons, inquiry told
The Doctor Death inquiry in Queensland has heard that patients at Hervey Bay Hospital
were in very unsafe hands because of three overseas-trained orthopaedic surgeons.
In the first day of evidence at the restarted Queensland Public Hospitals Commission
of Inquiry, the focus has moved from Bundaberg to Hervey Bay hospital.
The previous inquiry focused largely focused on Bundaberg Hospital and its employment
of surgeon JAYANT PATEL, who has been linked to the deaths of at least 80 patients.
