Fed: Strong economic growth augurs well for reforms: Howard

CANBERRA, Sept 7 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard says strong economic growth figures
augur well for keeping unemployment low and paving the way for the government's reform
agenda.
Figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today showed the economy
grew by 1.3 per cent in the June quarter, taking the nation's annual growth rate to 2.6
per cent.
"The figures are very pleasing indeed," Mr Howard told reporters.
