Around the world, bread has gained a significant status that most
breakfasts would not be complete without them. In the Philippines, nothing
beats sitting at the breakfast table, sipping a cup of coffee, reading the
newspaper, and savoring the classic pan de sal.

Pan de sal (Spanish for "bread of salt") is believed to be of Spanish
origin when wheat was brought to the country through the galleon trade.
During the Spanish times, Pan de sal was baked in a cocina's pugon (oven).
It has then undergone an evolution, being sold at panaderias, to the
bicycle-riding ...
