Panama upset Colombia 3-2 Thursday night to advance to its first Gold Cup final, getting two goals from Ricardo Phillips and another from Jorge Dely Valdes to subdue the 2001 Copa America champion.

Phillips and Dely Valdes both scored in the first 26 minutes and appeared in control when Colombian defender Humberto Mendoza was ejected in the 40th minute for an elbow to the head of Dely Valdes.
