Iraq's transitional government reached out anxiously Friday to Arab and other Muslim countries, asking them not to be intimidated by the killing of Egypt's top diplomat in Iraq by an Islamic militant group linked to Al Qaeda, The New York Times reported from Baghdad.The appeal, in a Foreign Ministry statement, reflected concern that the slaying of Ihab al-Sharif, the 51-year-old diplomat, would derail attempts by the Baghdad government to draw stronger diplomatic support, particularly from other Arab nations.
