It seems you always wanted to make a movie on 'Netaji' Subhas Chandra Bose.
Why?
Bose is a very fascinating figure in the nationalist politics of India, and
a very important figure. My interest in Bose, like so many of my
generation, is because of a personal connection with the Indian National
Army [that Bose raised to oust India's British colonizers]. That is in the
form of an uncle of mine, Ramesh Benegal, whose family was settled in
Rangoon [in Myanmar, what was then Burma] in the 1930s.
