The Indian government announced a decision Thursday to liberalize the print media industry, allowing foreign newspapers to publish in India. The information and broadcasting minister, Jaipal Reddy, said the cabinet had approved a relaxation of controls on foreign newspapers, giving Indian readers access to international newspapers on the day they are published at reasonable prices.
