Fed: Australian ballet great Ross Stretton dies

The man who bought Australian ballet into the 21st century, ROSS STRETTON, has died aged 53.

A former director of the Australian Ballet, The Royal Ballet in the UK and a principal
dancer, Mr STRETTON died after a long battle with the skin cancer melanoma.

Mr STRETTON was born in Canberra where he first developed his talent as a tap-dancer.

In 1976, he became a principal artist of The Australian Ballet and in 1979 moved to
