Fed: Australian ballet identity Ross Stretton dies
SYDNEY, June 16 AAP - Ballet identity Ross Stretton, credited with bringing Australian
ballet into the 21st century, has died.
A former director of the Australian Ballet, The Royal Ballet in the UK and a principal
dancer, Mr Stretton died after a long battle with the skin cancer melanoma.
He was 53.
Artistic director of The Australian Ballet, David McAllister, said he had inherited
a versatile company from Mr Stretton.
