Rockland stops Ellsworth 2-1 to advance

ROCKLAND --

Wade Oliver struck out 15 and pitched a three-hitter Thursday to lead third-seeded Rockland to a 2-1 victory in eight innings against 11th-ranked Ellsworth in an Eastern Class B baseball quarterfinal. Oliver also scored both runs for the Tigers (11-5) against Ellsworth (8-10).

Oliver walked one and hit one batter, and the only run he allowed came on a homer in the first.
