KUCHING, Thurs. - A field trip to Batang Ai hydroelectric dam turned

tragic for five Boy Scouts and their teacher when their boat capsized
yesterday evening, leaving two dead and one missing

The incident occurred about 6.30pm, when the boat was hit by strong

waves caused by a thunderstorm.

Lubok Antu police chief ASP Tingau Luna told the New Straits Times that

three of the victims clung to their boat while the other three tried to

swim to safety but went missing.
