Longtime Jewish communal professional Sol Daiches, most recently vice
president of community services and chief operating officer of the Jewish
Federation of Greater Philadelphia, died March 26 at Abington Hospital. He
was 52 years old.
A native of Chicago, Daiches was born to Holocaust survivors who ran a
small business in their West Rogers Park neighborhood, according to
Daiches' only sibling, his brother Seymour. "I'm six years younger, and Sol
